Greek Yoghurt Berry Bowl

A three-minute, high-protein breakfast built for a smaller appetite. The kind of quiet, nutrient-dense meal that makes a GLP-1 journey easier to sustain.

Why protein matters on GLP-1

Semaglutide and tirzepatide work partly by reducing appetite, which is exactly why they help. The trade-off is that when you eat less overall, it becomes much easier to fall short on protein without noticing. Weight loss on these medications can include lean muscle, not only fat, and protein is the single most important nutrient for protecting the muscle you already have.

With appetite lower, every mouthful has to earn its place. A meal like this delivers a large share of your protein in a small, easy-to-tolerate portion, with fibre to support fullness and digestion. Front-loading protein earlier in the day tends to be far more achievable than trying to catch up at dinner.

Ingredients

  • Greek yoghurt, plain and unsweetened0% fat Greek (Fage Total 0%), skyr (Siggi's, Arla), or 2 to 5% for a creamier bowl 250 g
  • Mixed berriesFresh or frozen · blueberries, raspberries, strawberries 100 g
  • Chia seedsFor fibre and a thicker, more filling texture 15 g

Method

  1. Choose your yoghurt. Spoon 250 g of plain, unsweetened Greek yoghurt or skyr into a bowl. A high-protein strained variety works best, as flavoured versions often carry added sugar and less protein per gram. A 0% option gives the most protein per gram; 2 to 5% fat is creamier and more satiating.

  2. Prep the berries. Rinse 100 g of fresh mixed berries, or let frozen ones thaw for a few minutes so they soften and release their juices. A mix of blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries gives colour, fibre, and antioxidants.

  3. Add the chia. Sprinkle 15 g of chia seeds over the yoghurt. If you have a few minutes, stir them in and let the bowl sit for five to ten minutes so the seeds swell and thicken it into a creamier, more filling texture.

  4. Layer and top. Add the berries on top, or gently fold everything together. For a little crunch, finish with a small scatter of chopped nuts or seeds, keeping the portion modest.

  5. Eat slowly. On GLP-1 medication, smaller bites and a gentle pace help you gauge fullness and settle better on a reduced appetite. Enjoy it as a breakfast or a protein-forward snack.
